There are plenty of positives about using social media.  I feel that the biggest plus is that social media allows people to keep in touch with, not just friends and family but also topics of interest relevant to them.

But in my view, there are a few drawbacks:

Information overload – does more information mean that you are better informed?

Expectations to update and keep people informed.  Do you have anything important to say (now being a case in point!)?

Privacy issues – not just from a security perspective but from the point of view of switching off, taking time out.

The proliferation of mobile devices capable of managing and transmitting information have contributed to the explosion in popularity of social media tools…? To be honest, I’m flagging a bit here.  So instead I googled social media blogs and found this guy’s blog.
